A tisket a tasket...MadPea- Mad Easter Egg Hunt 2018!

I do love an excuse to create a fun ensemble. But lets not kid ourselves for this moment is all about that Basket! Suited up for the 2018 MadPea - Mad Easter Egg Hunt in Secondlife.

Aaahhh, how I do love a good hunt!  And one of my favorite Secondlife (SL) groups to turn to for a seriously good hunt is Madpea!   So when I saw that the annual Madpea: Mad Easter Egg Hunt was ready to go, I made it my business to be logged in, at Madpea city at midnight SLT for the official start time to await the magical landmark to the starting point to purchase my Hud and get to hunting. Yes it is was that serious! lol

SO as I waited along with several other hunt loyalist I watched the clock tick..."where's the LM?" I thought..."what's taking so long? I wanna get going already!", and at almost half past there it was, the highly anticipated notice with THE landmark! I quickly grabbed it out of  the notice and TPed to the starting point.  I tried my best not to bump into anyone as I made my way inside to the vendor board, and with no hesitation I purchased my Hud and hopped up outta there!  After opening my package and adding its contents, I was ready! And I started by grabbing up the first few eggs on site. Once I was warmed up I was off! Out into the wild pixel yonder that is the sl grid.

Fast forward; time flew by and I tried my best to not just make my moves , but to enjoy the amazing locations I found myself steamrolling thru like a stealthy submarine being led by sonar. Applying the best of my hunting skills I found egg after egg. I flew up, I flew down, I maneuvered store skybox showrooms by camming like a pro and sitting on whatever I could find. Those pretty bedazzled eggs would not evade my reach and my basket as long as I could keep my eyes open. And for one glorious moment in time I was #10 then #9 on the top 50 Hunters leader board! YESSSSSS!!!!!

As my eyes grew heavier whilst I remembered all of the RL stuff I had to do later on  that day, I acquiesced to sleep. But not before I took a screen shot of my personal best Hunt moment ever! I was a contender. But alas, as with all things fluid in life , it was a brief moment for I knew when I checked back at the close of my very busy day, I knew I would be nowhere near where I was on the board before the sun rose and sleep got me, let alone even in the top 50. But, once my day had quieted and all on my "To do" list was done, I nestled in for an evening of winding down with my Avatar, and I was compelled to see where my name was. So I checked, and I was #45.  And so it goes, I had fallen from grace.

Here's the funny part, there is no absolute satisfaction in those rankings for most in the sense that no one is guaranteed those top spots, and if you get there unless you are 100% dedicated to be at it non stop, ya won't hold onto a high ranking.  Quite frankly when I was # 10, there was some chick right on my heels by 100 points, she was coming for my basket!lol  So I stayed up for another hour and went into overdrive to increase the gap. It was that moment of  "Oh no, this is my spot girly!" that got me to #9.  I don't know what took over me. But I just could not get ok with the idea of losing my spot so soon. Now I have no idea when I actually did lost my spot because sanity and a rl schedule dictated that I stop playing the game and go to bed. But the point is... even when you are not a competitive person by nature, a fun fest such as a ranked hunt will  bring the competitor out of you. And its FUN!!!!! I love it!


At this point I haven't been back on the bunny trail, but its only been one day and I plan to get back in the zone  tonight. As I have been to the top (which was a goal for the night), I will now focus on getting my numbers up so I can scoop up some cool prizes, which ultimately is what you truly are hunting for, points for prizes.  And if you are wise you take these opportunities to go for the adventure that is TPing into regions and shops that you have never seen before. Learning about what's really out there in our pixel universe.  And oh the awesomeness of it all!  For me its almost like seeing an old friend after a long time apart, or making a new friend that you click with at first sight. I have been reminded of some of the most beautiful spaces I have ever seen in world and introduced to some new ones that are so breathtaking that I almost forget how I wound up there or for what reason.  I love SL Creators and Designers who truly bring beauty and  spectacle to the grid. They make my SL worth logging for. And hunts like those organized by Madpea are like passports to the heart and soul of what makes SL so cool.


So, tonight I will fill my basket with eggs and points. But I will also fill my inventory with landmarks to great merchants, fun immersive places, and gorgeous spaces.  I urge anyone who claims to not like hunts to give this one a try.  Granted you are not hunting for clothes and such, you are hunting with an objective. Now whether that objective is to dominate the leader board, gain enough points to get the prize that you really want or to explore the SL grid and maybe meet some cool people along the way, is up to you.  Just get into it and have fun!  I know I will...I always do.  Happy hunting!
